FRIENDS ON THE WALL

Vikka Gallery gave me my 1st opportunity to curate a group exhibition. Over the past 3 years of my art career I had the opportunity to meet some really dope artists in the city. Now that I have a proper platform and a gallery that wanted to work with me, I figured this would be the best time to showcase all the great DC artists: Death By Narwhal, Brian Tolbert , Snow Gawd , Melroy Art, Me , Devika Srother, Bre Pippens and Shalay Wallace (From Left to Right on the Group Photo)

CPAC SOLO EXHIBITION

Common People Ain’t Common was my 2nd art show but 1st solo exhibition, thanks to Nancy Blackwell at QUID NUNC Gallery. The collection consisted of 100 pieces, all dedicated to the people I observed and admired in my life. I wanted this show to be a be a month -long thank you to all the people who have supported my art so far.

Being selected for the NOMA in Color Mural Festival was a tremendous feeling by itself. What made it perfect is that my 1st ever solo mural was going to be created on the very wall I used to stare at on my walk to high school at McKinley Tech. This wasn’t easy, reworking 200 square feet of blank wall under the summer sun made me question the strength of my shoulders and my resolve to stay faithful to the image I had in my head. After all the mess, reworks, and painting late nights it feels damn good to have my work quite literally be on the wall.

1st MURAL

Back in 2022 , I set out on a goal to create my 1st solo show. With complete awareness that I have no galleries connections and only 5 paintings ever attempted, I knew this was more of a pipe dream than a goal. However audacity got me far enough to turn some iPad sketches into walls of art so figured, why not just keep dreaming until it becomes reality . August 2024, I got to open the doors for my one day only show. Financed by myself, promoted by myself and tremendous help from friends and family I got show off 12 pieces to over 200 attendees. Feels damn good to dream a dream and see it come true.
